Introduction
A class action suit has been launched against Health Labrador Corporation on behalf of hundreds of residents of the Labrador City area who have been injured by the failure of the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital to follow proper sterilization procedures at gynecology clinics.
The hospital took eight months before contacting patients about potential infection.
In addition, damages are being sought over the method of informing affected patients. The procedures used to contact patients appear to violate the protection of personal privacy provided under the Privacy Act of Newfoundland.
Klein Lyons is working on this lawsuit in conjunction with Ches Crosbie, Ches Crosbie Barristers of St. John's, Newfoundland.
If you feel that you have been harmed by the improper sterilization methods, please complete the 'Do you Qualify' form or Contact Us by email. The initial consultation is free and if we accept your case, payment will be on a contingency basis. If we don't win, you pay no legal fees.
