The Settlement involves complicated legal concepts. As the lawyers for the Woodlands Class Action, we know the Settlement Agreement better than anyone else. This knowledge will help us prove your claim and ensure that you receive the most compensation possible.
In addition, we have already obtained residents’ individual files and obtained and reviewed all of Woodlands’ records (for example: policies, procedures, reports, memos, etc.).
This means that we can cross-reference or compare your files with the files of other residents and Woodlands’ records to build, support and strengthen your claim in a way that no one else currently can. If there is something in another resident’s files or in Woodlands’ records that would help your claim, currently, only Klein Lyons would know about it.
If you file your own claim or hire another lawyer to assist you, you will be able to obtain copies of your individual file from the Province; however, if you wanted to obtain copies of Woodlands’ records, you would need to get a Court order.
We also have experts on hand to establish the extent of Woodlands’ negligence. Expert opinions will help ensure that your injury is placed in the right category and that you receive the most compensation possible.
Lastly, our fee is very reasonable (less than what other lawyers would typically charge). If you receive compensation, Class Counsel Fees and Individual Counsel Fees will be deducted from your award (discussed in item 4 below).
If you do not receive any compensation, you will not be required to pay any legal fees to Klein Lyons.
